Birthday Girl...Party GIRL!

We had the BEST weekend celebrating Alexa's 1st Birthday as well as celebrating our survival of year ONE of parenthood!

It started on Friday when Alexa and I stayed with Ian in Lafayette Indiana.  We had a pizza dinner while discussing how quickly she has changed from a baby to a toddler.  Alexa was walking around the hotel room playing a game by herself. She would climb into the pack and play (the side zipper undone) with a toy or shoe, leave the toy or shoe in the pack and play, climb out, leaving the object, then she would grab another toy or shoe and climb back in.  She did this for about 8 minutes, squealing, and talking to herself the entire time!  She has such an imagination and is always so content.   Before bed she had something in her hand (I cant remember now what it was) and I asked her for it.  She handed it to me and when she did my response was "thank you". Alexa responded right back "Thank you"   We couldn't believe it!!  Ian said "THANK YOU?" and we both just starting cracking up!! She is repeating EVERYTHING!!  I have said  this in at least 2 posts every month for the past 5 months but we are SO proud of her!! She is the happiest, sweetest little girl who amazes us everyday!

Saturday we had a family reunion to celebrate my grandma's 87th birthday!  It was great to see family, some of which I haven't seen in years!  We had a lot to celebrate and my cousin Marisa made Alexa this gorgeous smash cake to celebrate her birthday which was the next day.

I was unsure of how Alexa would react to the cake, but she didn't disappoint and dug right in!  We had such a great time visiting with family and celebrating 4 new grand babies, Matt's health, my grandma's birthday, and wishing my cousin Jenny, Good Luck on her next adventure...a move to Canada.

Here are some pictures from Saturday.

All 9 great grand kids...and #10 is on the way! :)

87 and 1...respectively.

The next day was her birthday and we had a Big Family First Birthday Pool Party!!! Alexa LOVES swimming so a pool party was the PERFECT way to celebrate!!

When it was time to open presents Alexa was a little disinterested at first, she preferred to play in her cousins baby seat, but once she say some of the toys, she got excited!

Look what I got!

Reading her card from Uncle Matt

Thanks Aunt Amanda, Uncle Nick and Olivia for my OSU hat and felt number book!
After presents Alexa had cake and just like the day before, she dug RIGHT in! :)

We had the BEST day celebrating with our extended family. It was wonderful to see all of them and spend time with our cousins. I cant believe how much they have grown up in the past few years...and that Alexa and Olivia are the next babies that we wont be able to believe have grown up so quickly!!

Here are some more of my favorite pictures from the day.

The only picture of us as a family all day and dad's eyes are closed! :(

A HUGE THANK you to my Aunt Linda and Uncle Jimmy for letting us use their house to celebrate. We had a fantastic weekend!!!
